SJHH is a leading academic health science and research centre. Home to more than 5,000 staff, 700 physicians and 300 volunteers, St. Joe’s is a multi-site, regional, tertiary centre, renowned for its strength in respiratory care, kidney and urinary care, mental health and addictions, surgical services, cancer surgery and women’s and infants’ care. St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Charlton Campus has the busiest emergency department in Hamilton, with greater than 70,000 emergency room visits per year. It is also the regional Emergency Psychiatric Service.
